The right rug size makes the difference between a nice room and an unforgettable one. In this guide, we'll help you choose the perfect size for your space — with visual examples and concrete recommendations.

Tips for choosing the right size
✓ Always measure the floor space. Write down the dimensions and keep at least 30 cm free between the rug and the wall for a calm appearance.
✓ Under, not in front. For a sofa, at least the front legs must be on the rug. Ideally, the entire sofa should be on it.
✓ Dining table with chairs. The rug must be large enough so that the chairs are still on it when you sit down and push back (allow for 60–70 cm backward per chair).
✓ In doubt? Choose larger. A rug that is too small makes the room feel cluttered. A slightly too large rug, however, connects all furniture and creates a coherent look.
✓ Vintage = unique. Our vintage rugs are handmade and therefore all slightly different in size. If in doubt, you can always contact us — we will be happy to advise you personally.

My space is irregular. Which size should I choose?
Measure the largest rectangle that fits in your space and keep 30 cm free all around. Vintage rugs often have a slightly irregular shape, which fits beautifully in irregular spaces.
Can a rug be placed under underfloor heating?
Our vintage rugs are low-pile and suitable for underfloor heating. The heat rises perfectly through the rug.
How much difference can there be between the recommended size and what I have?
10–20 cm difference is usually fine. Our vintage rugs have small size variations as a characteristic of their handmade origin.
