Subtle sheen, fine knots, and heavenly softness — our silk rugs are among the most refined offerings of Turkish carpet artistry. Each piece is hand-knotted, with the luxury that only silk can provide. Want to know more?
Silk reflects light in a unique way: from one angle, the rug appears darker; from another, it almost seems to glow. This gives a silk rug a vibrancy that wool can never achieve. Furthermore, silk allows for extremely fine knots — up to 1 million knots per square meter — making patterns so detailed they resemble paintings.
Unparalleled craftsmanship
Tying a silk carpet requires years of experience. Some pieces in our collection took several years for a single weaver to create. The fine knot density, the consistent pattern, the regularity in sheen — everything testifies to craftsmanship that exists at this level in fewer and fewer regions in Turkey.
Where do you place a silk rug?
In a place where it can be appreciated and protected. Silk is more delicate than wool — ideal for a bedroom, dining room, or stately living room, less suitable for a hallway or a spot with direct sunlight (UV light can fade colors). Many silk rugs are also used as wall hangings: hanging above a sofa or bed, the patterns truly come to life.
What are typical colors?
Silk carpets often come in jewel tones: deep red, cobalt blue, emerald green, ochre, soft pink. The sheen intensifies these colors. Subtle neutral variations (cream, beige, taupe) are also available — in a minimalist interior, a neutral silk rug provides a refinement you won't find anywhere else.
Silk care
Vacuum carefully on a low setting (without a beater bar), never clean wet — only dry or by a professional. Keep the rug away from direct sunlight and avoid moisture. With proper care, a silk carpet can easily last several generations — it is literally worthy of being an heirloom.
