Why an orange vintage rug?

Orange is the color of warmth, coziness, and hospitality. Psychologically linked to appetite and social energy – it's no coincidence that it's the favorite color of many restaurants and cafes. An orange vintage rug immediately brings that warm, inviting atmosphere into your home. Especially during autumn and winter months, it provides a sense of comfort that cooler colors simply cannot deliver.

The orange hues in our collection

Our orange vintage rugs range from soft salmon and peach through vibrant coral and mandarin to deep terracotta, rust, and autumn-colored paprika. Some pieces are almost gold-orange, others lean towards red (vermilion, burgundy-orange). Vintage means the color has softened over time – never a bright synthetic orange, always a lived-in, earthy tone.

Which interior style suits orange?

Orange suits more styles than you might think. Boho and Mediterranean living naturally rely on it – terracotta alongside adobe, rattan, and plants. Mid-century modern and retro welcome saturated orange under rosewood and teak furniture. Surprisingly, it also works in Japandi and Scandi as a warm accent among a lot of white and wood. For an industrial loft, rust provides a warm counterbalance to concrete and steel.

Combining with other colors

Orange combines beautifully with cool and earthy tones. It works wonderfully with: grey, navy blue and petrol, dark green, dark wood, leather, and marble. With cream and beige, a calm earthy palette emerges. With black-and-white details, orange really stands out. Avoid: too much fuchsia or magenta (clashes), too much purple (overlaps), and very bright yellow tones that compete with orange.

Which size fits?

Orange is a warm, anchoring color – a rug in this shade often forms the visual centerpiece of a room. In the living room, count on at least 200×300 cm so that the seating area comes together. Under the dining table: at least 60 cm around the table so that chairs remain on the rug even when pulled out. In the bedroom or reading nook, from 170×240 cm. Our size guide with visual examples per room will help you further.

Maintenance of handmade wool

Our orange vintage rugs are made of wool – naturally dirt-repellent, colorfast, and durable. Regular vacuuming (without a beater bar) is sufficient; always dab stains immediately with a clean white cloth (never rub). Wool naturally repels moisture and dirt, allowing a vintage rug to last for decades. Once a year, beating it outside or professional wool cleaning will keep the rug fresh.
