Why a green vintage rug?

Green is the color of nature and has an immediate calming effect — scientifically linked to a lower heart rate and improved concentration. In an era where biophilic design (interiors that bring nature indoors) is becoming increasingly important, a green rug might just be the gentlest way to achieve it. It brings outdoor tranquility indoors without the need for a forest of plants.

The green hues in our collection

Our green vintage rugs range from light pastel green and soft jade green through earthy moss green and olive tones to deep emerald and forest green. Some pieces have a surprisingly cool, almost minty undertone; others are warm with a yellow accent leaning towards turmeric. With vintage, no two shades are identical. A green vintage rug is always a specific, time-softened interpretation — never a 'standard green'.

Which interior style suits green?

Green works surprisingly broadly. In a boho interior, it naturally combines with rattan, terracotta, and earthy tones. In Japandi or Scandi living, a moss-green rug provides a calm focal point among white-oak furniture. In a classic interior, emerald green exudes royal allure alongside dark wood and gold accents. For mid-century modern and retro, olive or avocado green under a tweed sofa feels both historic and contemporary.

Combining with other colors

Green is a tranquil base that combines easily. It works beautifully with: terracotta, rust, beige and soft cream, dark wood, copper and brass accents, and burnt sand tones. It can work well with blue if there are clearly different shades (moss green + petrol blue, for example). Avoid: bright orange (clashes with green), too much red (quickly becomes Christmassy), and neon shades.

Which size fits?

A green rug can be nicely large in the living room — from 200×300 cm it draws attention without being overwhelming. For under the dining table, allow at least 60 cm around the table so that chairs remain on the rug even when pulled out. In the bedroom, from 170×240 cm works if your bed fits on it. Doubting? Maintenance of handmade wool

Our green vintage rugs are made of wool — naturally dirt-repellent and durable. Regular vacuuming (without a beater bar) is sufficient; always blot stains immediately with a clean white cloth (never rub). Once a year, beating it outside or professional wool cleaning keeps the rug fresh. With this basic care, a vintage wool rug can easily last decades.
